Engineers Without Borders - USA

A group of engineers, professors, and students dedicated to helping developing countries with their civil and environmental engineering needs. They have projects under way in Belize and Mali and soon in Vietnam, Nicaragua and Haiti. Undergraduate students help in such projects from concept to construction and get hands-on experience with civil engineering in developing countries while learning about the socio-economic aspects involved. A team of students just returned from the western part of Belize where they built a water distribution system for a small Mayan village. They plan to return and install turbines to generate electricity using the current of a nearby river. The Sustainable Village partnered with Engineers Without Borders to develop their website and supply upcoming projects.
