Surmang Foundation - Tibet
The
Surmang Foundation works for the economic, cultural and social revitalization
of an ethnic Tibetan region in Qinghai, PR China. Their mission is to
contribute resources that sustain and nourish the communities of this
region and bring them back from the edge of cultural dispossession. From
their inception, Our founder Steve Troy has worked on projects with Surmang
including a solar powered medical clinic and school. Lee Weingrad, Paul
Kloppenberg, Phil Molson, and Michael Johnson have spent months at these
sites doing construction and installing solar electric systems. This will
be their 8th year of providing health care and the third year for the
school.
