Steve Troy, founder of The Sustainable Village, has worked with VITA for over 20 years- helping with appropriate technology engineering and supply, promoting and selling their extremely useful books. For over four decades VITA has empowered the poor in developing countries by providing access to information and knowledge, strengthening local institutions and introducing improved technologies.

In alignment with The Sustainable Village, VITA focuses on support to entrepreneurs in the private, public and community sectors.

They also facilitate connectivity and technical information exchange between and among individuals and organizations and provide frequently updated information on disaster relief (www.cidi.org).
