Other partnerships are just getting started.
Kwetu, a job training program for
youth in Kenya, is teaching the unemployed to use renewable energy
technologies and to dry fish and fruits for local consumption. The
Sustainable Village hopes to begin importing neem oil from Kwetu
for use in a variety of products.
Some of our other ongoing and new partnerships
include the Global EcoVillage network, Gold River Solar in Ghana,
New Tribes Missions in many countries, Equatorial Business Group
in Ethiopia, Village Earth projects in India, Nepal, and Indonesia,
JAARS, Energy Alternatives Africa, the Peace Corp, various NREL
projects in Africa, ETS Technical in Puerto Rico, Food For The Hungry,
African Inland Mission, NRECA, Fr. Madu in Nigeria, Eco Sustainable
Developments in Australia, Brother Andre in Kenya, Surmang Foundation
in Tibet, the Senegalese US office, the Ethno Medicine Preservation
in Peru, Fr. Fagan's medical clinics in Tanzania, New ePoch in China,
TEAM, Rainbow Reef Resort in Fiji, Diawara Solar Energy in Mali,
Sollatek in Kenya, African Christian Mission, UNICEF/WES, Christian
Missionary Fellowship, International Aid, USAID, Pioneer Bible Translators,
Monastere Benediction in Haiti, Habitat for Humanity, World Vision
and many more (sorry if we missed you!).
Both on our web site and in future
catalogs, we plan to feature and promote the projects these groups
are developing. If you're actively working in a developing country
to make the world a better place, we would like to let more people
know about it, help raise financing, get volunteers, and help make
your efforts successful.
