Yes, classic Miles - and most Miles fans may really like it. I'm really curious what you found funny though. I don't think I smiled once through the entire book. But then, I'm sure I have a more warped sense of humor - more along the lines of Philip K. Dick novels. - Steve 1/4/97

"Having read some ten opinions about this book, I´m compelled to agree to almost all stated critique - easily perceivable plot but interesting evolution of miles´ character for those, who are already members of the "family". In comparison with books like "brothers in arms" I have the impression that Ms. Bujold runs out of daring exterior adventures, one of the most intriguing aspects of all former books. The inner adventures have lost their stringent quality. I hope that future books will return to the former tracks." ­ Norbert 02-06-98
