Donate/Invest

We're pioneering a new approach to donations. Rather than giving dollars that get dramatically diluted between your checkbook and the people/projects you'd like to help, you can use this method to directly provide tools that create micro-businesses in developing countries. As the famous African saying goes, "Give a man a fish and he eats for a day; teach a man to fish and he eats forever." This section gives you an opportunity to not only “teach people to fish” but also provide a variety of "fishing poles”, tools that begin a systematic, expanding progression out of poverty. See Donating Tools for Progress for a more complete description.

This list describes people in developing countries with projects and dreams, the tools and training they need to make these dreams real, and the nonprofit organizations sponsoring and overseeing the project. Just click the Donate button to send your contribution and we’ll take it from there including keeping you in touch with how the project does and how the people feel about your donation.

Solar Lanterns, Liberia $550.00
Collapse
Project Description: Liberia has been going through civil crisis for the last 10 or more years. Leaving many families, women and children homeless, destitute and without life's basic needs. I live in a rural town call Ganta, about 4 hour drive Monrovia, the capital city of Liberia. Ganta has about 40,000 inhabitants. Only few persons have portable, electric to run their provisionary shops. Many live on subsistant farming. I have 5 kids and 3 other dependents. Both of us hold Masters degree. My wife, Martha has a special, feeding and care ministry to women (widows) and children (orphans) who are victims of our ongoing civil crisis here in Liberia. Solar lamps would make it possible for people to learn how to read at night and work on income-generating crafts.
